The RS-200 is a complete oil-free roughing system designed for quick evacuation of systems with a volume of 200 liters or less. Operation is automatic and interlocked, and the system is not adversely affected by operator error or power failure.

  • All flanges are ISO/NW clamp type. Complete mechanical installation can be done in less than ten minutes.
  • All cables are plug-in type. Complete electrical hook up can be done in less than five minutes.

ROUGHING ION PUMPED SYSTEMS
The RS-200 virtually eliminates starting problems of ion pumps by providing fast roughing to the 10-4 Torr range and below. The pumping speed curve of the molecular drag pump extends to the 10-6 Torr range. Users report extended cathode life resulting from starting their ion pump at reduced pressures.

BACKING TURBO PUMPS
Because these systems contain no oil, they eliminate the need to vent the turbo in power-off and/or power-failure situations. In UHV-grade systems, providing a backing pressure of 10-5 Torr for the turbo extends the useful pumping speed range of the turbo resulting in lower base pressures.

ROUGHING CRYOPUMPED SYSTEMS
The RS-200 eliminates the possibility of system contamination from oil during the roughing phase. Of equal importance, it eliminates the possibility of oil contamination of the cryopump charcoal array during regeneration.

The controller is totally enclosed, and it includes female receptacles for the male plugs of the interconnecting cables. It can be free standing or rack mounted. It is pre-drilled for rack mount (1/2 rack) brackets which are included at no extra charge if requested by the customer. The controller contains the MDP power supply, relays, and interlocks for fully automatic, one-button operation. The front panel includes a lighted pushbutton, an elapsed time counter, and LED's indicating the status of the molecular drag pump.

The H-200 is a heavy duty, two stage, air cooled mechanical pump. It features quiet operation (62 DBA), and includes a patented internal vibration dampening system. Its' footprint is 10" x 13".
200mdp 16 CFM MOLECULAR DRAG PUMP
The molecular drag pump (MDP) is shown with an optional adapter installed. The inlet of the MDP is an ISO-63 flange. Adapters for NW-25, NW-40, 2.75" Conflat and other popular flanges are available. This dual ceramic bearing pump is extremely rugged and it can operate in any orientation.
200valve FORELINE VALVE AND PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
The foreline valve automatically closes in power-fail/power-off situations keeping the user's system under vacuum while the power is off. When power resumes, a five-second time delay relay keeps this valve closed until the mechanical pump re-establishes vacuum in the foreline. After the vacuum is re-established, the foreline valve opens automatically. The pressure switch provides the signal to automatically turn on the molecular drag pump (MDP) after the system is roughed to a pressure low enough to permit proper operation of the MDP. This switch will also turn off the MDP if the pressure rises to a level too high for proper operation of the MDP.
200parts VACUUM FITTINGS, PLUG-IN CABLES, FLEXIBLE FORELINE
All foreline fittings are NW-16, and clamps and centering rings are included. The interconnect cables between the components and the controller are 8 ft. long, and they have plug-in connectors on both ends.The standard foreline is stainless steel flexline 48" long with NW-16 flanges on both ends. Longer or shorter lengths are available.
