HEAVY DUTY MOLECULAR DRAG PUMP PACKAGE
The BH2-60HD provide reliable oil-free pumping from atmospheric
pressure to the 10-5 Torr range. Operation is fully automatic
and interlocked, and these packages are not adversely affected
by operator error or power failure.
- Full 2-year warranty.
- Zero maintenance ceramic bearings installed in the drag pump.
- No preventative maintenance of any kind required.
- The model BH2-60HD, shown above weighs less than 30 lbs.,
and includes a carrying handle.
- Extremely quiet operation.
- Modular design provides for remote mounting of the control
module and/or direct mounting of the molecular drag pump to the
user's system flange.
ROUGHING ION PUMPED SYSTEMS
Drivac packages virtually eliminate starting problems of
ion pumps by providing fast roughing to the 10-4 Torr range and
below. The pumping speed curve of the molecular drag pump extends
to the 10-6 Torr range. Users report extended cathode life resulting
from starting their ion pump at reduced pressures.
BACKING TURBO PUMPS
Because these packages contain no oil, they eliminate the
need to vent the turbo in power-off and/or power-failure situations.
In UHV-grade systems, providing a backing pressure of 10-5 Torr
for the turbo extends the useful pumping speed range of the turbo
resulting in lower base pressures. In RGA sampling system applications,
users report dramatically reduced water levels in the sampling
manifold compared to oil-sealed backing pumps.
ROUGHING CRYOPUMPED SYSTEMS
Drivac packages eliminate the possibility of system contamination
from oil during the roughing phase. Of equal importance, they
eliminate the possibility of oil contamination of the cryopump
charcoal array during regeneration. During regeneration which
entails vacuum levels of 50 millitorr (molecular flow), the charcoal
array is particularly vulnerable to oil migration from the roughing
pump. DRI-2 packages eliminate this possibility.

DUAL DIAPHRAGM PUMP
All type HD packages include the H-60 diaphragm pump with a MTBF
rating of 25,000 hours for the rotating mechanisms. The H-60
has an ultimate vacuum capability of 4 Torr. This provides a
wide margin for proper backing pressure, and also results in
faster mid-range roughing compared to competitive pumps with
9 to 10 Torr capability. |
|
TEFLON COATED DIAPHRAGMS
The H-60 is presently the only diaphragm pump offered on pump
packages of this type with teflon coated diaphragms to extend
diaphragm life. In the photo above, the diaphragm on the left
was removed from a pump in operation for 4,200 hours at Bell
Labs, Murray Hill, NJ. It shows virtually no wear compared to
the new diaphragm on the right. |

ZERO MAINTENANCE CERAMIC BEARINGS
The "HD" models feature lubricated-for-life ceramic
bearings installed in the molecular drag pump. A proprietary
lubricant for these bearings ensures years of reliable, trouble-free
operation of the drag pump. |
|
NO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE REQUIRED
No preventative maintenance of any kind is required. All bearings
are lubricated for life. Both the molecular drag and the diaphragm
pump are oil-free, so there is no oil to change. These heavy
duty pump packages are ideal for situations involving unskilled
or low skill level operating and maintenance personal. |
|
TWO YEAR WARRANTY
All "HD" models include a two-year, 18,000 operating
hour warranty. An hour meter is included to log total run time.
This warranty is supported by exchange units in stock at Drivac. |
|
EXTREMELY COMPACT &COMPLETELY PORTABLE
The footprint of the BH2-60HD is 8" by 11". The total
weight is 28 lbs., and a carrying handle is included. All DRI-2
packages are air cooled, and they do not require liquid nitrogen,
bake-out, or cooling water. The only utility required for the
BH2-60HD pump package is 110V, 5 amps. |
